The View from Here

I suppose balance in applying honesty with compassion is the essence of my aim on the path. I don’t find it necessary to hedge on the thorough examination of my own inner workings but I need to find compassion for those who haven’t gotten where I am. The path I speak of is a mountain trail: the further I trek the better the view. I can at times read the signs, and even catch a glimpse, of those who have gone before me and, most certainly, see from certain vistas those who are coming after. Some even pass me as I rest; or, while I watch others fall behind and I am compelled by an inner trust, offering a hand to help a straggler.
