Mountan Stream Dance (I.e., Spiritual Evolution)

Each horror, disaster, war and human calamity, has the hand of evolution played out before broad brushstrokes of time. Why then should this not be an axiom in the spiritual realm? The example of the Chinese invasion and suppression of Tibet is one of the best examples of this phenomenon I can think of. Were it not for that catastrophic Diaspora, the West would not have had the example and teachings of dozens of enlightened monks spreading the spirituality of the high Himalayas to invigorate the West’s techno-scientific and Christian leanings. I’m not proposing that the Chinese had to invade and oppress the Tibetan people for this seemingly minor cultural infusion to happen but, just as mass extinctions play a part in what we are, a human ape, the creativity of natural selection seems to always find a way from the mountains to the sea by the unrelenting force of gravity alone. Were it not for my own personal disasters, I most likely would not have sought the refuge a Higher Power or ever learned the necessity of seriously practicing meditation.
